How do you, dear Sensitive ones, recover from a period of Stress?
In this blog, I'd like to continue the conversation about self-care, tell a story about a stressful week(!), and offer some tools for how we can return back to balance after a stress period.
Earlier this week, I wrote in a Facebook post about the stressful week I had last week, that ended in tears!
Since moving back to Melbourne, my businesses have been getting busier and busier, where I've been taking on more and more work.
By Saturday afternoon of last week, I had hit my threshold.
Due to my Europe & Bali trip looming, and me wanting to squeeze in as much possible into my weeks before I go, I pushed myself to the very limit!
Not only that, but I also put aside my self-care routines aside in order to achieve this, and boy, was that a bad idea!!
And so yes, this week ended in tears (!) and by Saturday arvo, I had fallen into a heap... completely burnt- out and exhausted.
After that tearful moment, I took myself straight to a hot bath and then jumped into bed...
And I'm glad to say it was all up-hill from there... :-)
As a Sensitive Soul, who gets rattled, overwhelmed and exhausted easily...

It is VITAL to have a self-care toolkit to turn to when it all gets too much...
By the end of Sunday, I felt completely rested, nourished, peaceful and re-balanced.
And this was due to pulling out the following from the toolkit:
After all of these activities of self-care and self-love, by Monday, I felt AWESOME (!), and was actually laughing about the whole melt-down experience.
And even though I believe us Sensitive Souls are strong on the inside (and many also appear this way on the outside), in many ways, we are also quite fragile.
Therefore, when we can understand who we are, what works for us and what doesn't work for us, this is when we can begin to HONOUR ourselves, our minds, our bodies and our souls, and give ourselves what we need, when we need, so that we can THRIVE, and be the gentle, yet POWERFUL Souls, we were born to be.
